Analytical Bounds for Nonasymptotic Asymmetric State Discrimination

چکیده
Two types of errors can occur when discriminating pairs quantum states. Asymmetric state discrimination involves minimizing the probability one type error, subject to a constraint on other. We give explicit expressions bounding set achievable errors, using trace norm, fidelity, and Chernoff bound. The upper bound is asymptotically tight lower exact for pure Unlike asymptotic bounds, our bounds error values instead exponents, so more precise results applied finite-copy problems.

Nonasymptotic Bounds for Autoregressive Time Series Modeling
The subject of this paper is autoregressive (AR) modeling of a stationary, Gaussian discrete time process, based on a finite sequence of observations. The process is assumed to admit an AR(∞) representation with exponentially decaying coefficients. We adopt the nonparametric minimax framework and study how well the process can be approximated by a finiteorder AR model. A lower bound on the accu...
متن کاملNonasymptotic bounds on the estimation error for regenerative MCMC algorithms∗
MCMC methods are used in Bayesian statistics not only to sample from posterior distributions but also to estimate expectations. Underlying functions are most often defined on a continuous state space and can be unbounded. We consider a regenerative setting and Monte Carlo estimators based on i.i.d. blocks of a Markov chain trajectory. The main result is an inequality for the mean square error. ...
متن کاملNonasymptotic Probability Bounds for Fading Channels Exploiting Dedekind Zeta Functions
In this paper, new probability bounds are derived for algebraic lattice codes. This is done by using the Dedekind zeta functions of the algebraic number fields involved in the lattice constructions. In particular, it is shown how to upper bound the error performance of a finite constellation on a Rayleigh fading channel and the probability of an eavesdropper’s correct decision in a wiretap chan...
متن کاملNonasymptotic bounds on the estimation error of MCMC algorithms
We address the problem of upper bounding the mean square error of MCMC estimators. Our analysis is non-asymptotic. We first establish a general result valid for essentially all ergodic Markov chains encountered in Bayesian computation and a possibly unbounded target function f. The bound is sharp in the sense that the leading term is exactly σ as(P, f)/n, where σ 2 as(P, f) is the CLT asymptoti...
متن کاملAn Analytical Equation of State for Molten Polymers
An analytical equation of state (EOS) developed by Ihm-Song-Mason (ISM) has been applied tocalculate some thermophysical properties of molten polymers including Poly (1-octene) (PO), Poly (vinylmethyl ether) (PVME), Poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC), and Poly (styrene) (PS). Three temperature-dependentparameters of the ISM EOS have been determined based on the alternative scaling constants, dispersiv...
